Optical modelling and design

Tyndall can perform advanced optical design and performance optimisation of components, modules and systems using ray-tracing software. This provides a fast and intuitive way to design, understand and optimise optical systems. As examples, optical modelling can be used for tolerance analysis and to optimise the detection efficiency of complex optical systems. The modelling can include multi-physics analysis in COMSOL to understand, e.g., thermal, optical and mechanical properties. Mechanical components and assemblies can be imported from CAD software such as SolidWorks. Software packages: Zemax, COMSOL, SolidWorks.
